Learning CTR Online

A venue for Home Education (Home School)

Unless you are enrolled in a state-registered public or private high school, then you are “home educated” according to U.S. state laws. Even if you are a homeschooler taking most of your classes from a particular venue (like Learning CTR Online), under state laws (and federal rules) you are “home educated.” Home educated students applying to U.S. colleges should apply as homeschoolers, not as students of a particular school. This is true even if you have an accredited transcript — or even a diploma — from a particular school (e.g. an online school). Unless you are enrolled in a state-registered public or private high school, you should apply to U.S. colleges as a home educated student.

Learning CTR Online will provide certificates of completion upon request for all courses passed with good standing. The certificate of completion will list the course and objectives taught (curriculum).

Home education is an advantage, not a disadvantage, where you have an opportunity to strengthen your application while avoiding some excess administration. The college application process as a homeschooler is firmly established in the U.S. for colleges, universities, and academies of every size and level. The Common Application and Coalition Application processes are also designed to support home educated students.

Learning CTR Online is a an educational venue for independent (“homeschool”) students. There is almost no instance where you should list Learning CTR Online as “your school” for official purposes. You should list yourself as “independent” or “home educated” and then list Learning CTR Online a course provider. Listing a school for official purposes implies that you are registered full-time in a school that manages all of your course selections, class schedules and academic options, and controls your academic records. Besides being inaccurate, this could hinder your application process because usually the “homeschool” path has simpler requirements in an application process.

If you have a legitimate basis for and need to list Learning CTR Online as your school, please provide learningctronline@gmail.com as the primary contact option. If you must list an address or phone number, our corporate address is below.
