Courses or Recitation Classes/Sessions consist of two 16 week semesters beginning late August and finishing early May.

Tuition

Learning CTR Online is a not-for-profit organization. Tuition is charged for the commitment on the student/parent's part and to cover basic costs. There are no package deals or gimmicky discounts. Full disclosure is given so families are fully aware of all costs prior to enrolling.

The expectation is that once a student is enrolled, there is a full year commitment to stay the course and learn.

Regular High School Science Course Tuition

(Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Projects in Science):

Please add $100 for a ONE student class.

Recitation Classes

Recitation Classes or Sessions:

$320 / semester / course 

 

  • Recitation class is highly recommended for Chemistry and Physics and will be scheduled based on student need. 

  • Students can enter this class/session anytime during the course (without penalty) if they enroll for the remainder of the year. No week by week enrollments.

  • Tuition will be charged for the remainder of that semester at $10 / week. 

  • This class may NOT be taken week to week, but as an enrolled student only.

  • Students desiring additional personal or individualized help outside of class times should consider tutoring sessions.

Recitation Classes will be Individualized

  1. Individual students can request a 20 minute/week session so that the student can ask questions or get immediate, individualized help. 

  2. Students grouped in classes of 2-3 will meet for 45 minutes/week sessions, catering to their schedule. 

  3. The tutoring fee ($30/hour/week) would come to over $960/year for that amount of time, so this is a discounted rate.

  4. Student sessions are most effective with 2-3 students for 45 minute/weeks sessions. Individual student needs are best addressed in the small setting. This seems to be the most conducive learning environment. 

  5. Student groups of 5 or more will be given 90 minute sessions.

Science Lab Course Tuition

  • $160 / student

  • 4-8 week Lab Courses

  • Physical Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Earth Science

  • the during of the class depends on the schedule you decide (flexibility)

Registration Fees:

  • Non-refundable (but applies toward tuition).

    • $100 registration fee for Course Tuition.

    • $100 registration fee for Recitation Classes.

  • Full Year Tuition is due before July 1st. Otherwise, tuition is charged per semester.

  • 2nd Semester Tuition (for per semester tuition only) is due before December 1st . Otherwise, a $25 non-tuition late fee is applied.

 

Pricing does NOT Include​:

  1. Textbooks (Hardcopy or etext $10-30)

  2. Lab Supplies ($25-30)

  3. You can get by without the textbook (although not recommended).

Dropping a Course:

  • The $100 registration fee(s) is non-refundable.

  • Late  Fees are non-refundable.

  • Tuition is non-refundable after the first TWO WEEKS of classes first semester.

    • Those who drop after the first two weeks, will NOT receive tuition back.​

    • The expectation is that once a student is enrolled, there is a full year commitment to stay the course and learn.

    • Tuition is non-refundable for those who enroll for second semester.

  • Should Learning CTR Online deem it necessary to remove a student from class (due to disciplinary action), tuition is non-refundable.

  • Class Size Minimum​

    • Learning CTR reserves the right to cancel any class (with a full refund including registration fee) if the class size minimum of 2 students is not met.

AUDIT a Course:

Maybe you just want to have access to a course and the resources? Then, auditing is for you. You can enroll in any course and utilize the curriculum, homework, demonstrations, video tutorials, study skills, labs, tests, etc. for that particular course. The teacher is also available to you as with any course through email.

  • The same tuition fees apply.

  • Students will not be "officially" graded, but have access to all classes, resources, and instruction.

  • This works when you want all the course resources and materials,  but do not want the class schedule.

  • This works for students who need a refresher course before taking AP.​

  • This works when unforeseen circumstances do not allow adequate participation.

  • Students can participate as much or as little as desired in class sessions.

  • Students do NOT have to take a pre-assessment to audit the class, but they will not be able to become a regular class member who is officially graded. They can request to take assessments and receive feedback, however.

  • Students will NOT receive a certificate of completion nor a grade for the course or any other record keeping item.

  • The audit time frame matches the class schedule, meaning that the course is available from August to May.
